LAEOG UK has attracted great interest from employees within local authorities who undertake event management. Anybody that is employed by a local authority and has a remit to do events within their role is eligible to join. The aim is to work hard to promote the group and the benefits of being involved in order to attract members from as many of the local authorities in the UK as possible so that we can be truly representative and speak with one voice. This will enable us to engage with the key organisations, associations and governing bodies that lead the industry. It will also help to increase the flow of information and levels of communication with the intention to help raise standards across the board and improve levels of consistency.
With such a vast amount of events taking place on local authority land we fully understand the important role we have to play and that there is a huge variation in the level of knowledge, skills and experience of people that are dealing with events within local authorities. We want to drive standards up to a consistently high level right across the UK and be an organisation that members can come to and find out the information they need and learn from others.
The strength of the group is its members and the wealth of knowledge they possess and can share with others. It is dependent on people investing their time and energy and assisting the committee to represent LAEOG and help it achieve its goals. More and more people are becoming aware of the group and its potential and want to engage with us. The more people we have that can help with achieving our goals, the more effective we will be.
